Bhojan Calorie Tracker
Request deletion of your data
You can have the data Bhojan holds about you erased — some of it or all of it — while keeping your account. This page explains what you can delete yourself and how to ask us to delete the rest.
Last updated: 19 August 2026
Looking to close your account entirely? That is a different request. See how to delete your account, which removes your login and all of your data together.
What data we hold
Any of the following can be deleted on request:
| Data | What it is | Can you delete it yourself? |
|---|---|---|
| Food logs | Meals you logged, with items, portions, calories, and macros. | Yes — entry by entry, in your journal. |
| Recipes | Recipes you created or imported, and their nutrition. | Ask us. |
| Weight history | Your recorded weight entries and progress charts. | Ask us. |
| Water & habits | Daily hydration totals and habit check-ins. | Ask us. |
| Corrections | Edits you submitted on estimated food entries. | Ask us. |
| Health profile | Date of birth, height, weight, and activity level. | Yes — you can change these at any time in Goals Settings. |
| Meal photos | Photos submitted for food recognition. | Nothing to delete — they are analysed and never stored on our servers. |
Option 1 — Delete meal entries yourself
Individual food logs can be removed immediately, without contacting us:
- Sign in and open your journal Go to calculatedbhojan.com or open the Bhojan Android app.
- Pick the day Use the date selector to find the day holding the entry you want gone.
- Delete the entry Tap the bin icon next to the meal. It is erased from our database right away.
Option 2 — Ask us to delete your data
To erase a whole category, a date range, or everything while keeping your account, email privacy@calculatedbhojan.com from the address on your account, with the subject “Delete my Bhojan data”.
Tell us:
- the email address on your account,
- what you want deleted — for example “all my weight history”, “every log before January 2026”, or “everything, but keep my account open”, and
- whether you would like an export of that data first.
We verify the request comes from the account holder, carry out the deletion, and email you to confirm what was removed. We normally do this within 7 days and always within 30 days. If we cannot delete something you asked about, we will tell you why.
Option 3 — Erase everything at once, in the app
If you want all of your data gone immediately and do not need to keep your login, the app can do it without waiting for us. Sign in, open Goals Settings, and use Expunge My Whole Account under GDPR Data Control. This wipes every record listed above and closes your account — the account deletion page walks through it step by step. You are welcome to sign up again afterwards with a clean slate.
Want a copy before it goes? Use Export My Profile Data (JSON) on the same screen first.
How long deletion takes, and what survives it
- Live database: immediate. Deletions you make in the app take effect at once. Deletions we make for you take effect when we process your email, normally within 7 days.
- Encrypted backups: up to 30 days. Copies may remain in routine encrypted backups, which are overwritten on a rolling cycle within 30 days. They are never used to restore deleted data.
- Anonymous nutrition data. Aggregate nutrition figures in our food catalogue are not personal data and are not linked to you, so they are unaffected by your request.
- Legal obligations. If the law requires us to retain a specific record, we keep only that record, for only as long as required, and we tell you.
Deletion is permanent. Once data is deleted we cannot recover it, and neither can you. Export anything you want to keep before you ask us to delete it.
Your other rights
As well as deletion, you can access and export your data, correct it, restrict or object to how we use it, and withdraw your consent. Our Privacy Policy explains each of these and how to complain to a regulator if you are unhappy with our response.
